All across America millions of older adults are One Event Away from crisis. One Away is a national advocacy campaign that gives voice to vulnerable older adults who are struggling with an economic crisis, some of whom were unexpectedly thrust into that position because of the level of care they provide for a loved one. The campaign calls for legislative and policy changes to make it easier for these struggling seniors to get the services and support they need.
With the help of the National Council on Aging (NCOA) local advocacy partners around the country are uniting in the hopes of building national support for this truly inspiring campaign. To date, they have collected over 1,300 stories from careworn families across the country.
