Recently Silverado Senior Living – Encinitas was visited by Sandie Lampe, Pet Columnist for San Diego Home & Garden and Contributor to San Diego’s KUSI News. Sandie had visited the Encinitas community before and witnessed, first-hand the incredible impact that our pets have on the residents. She offered to come back to showcase our use of pet companions as part of her five-part series titled “Healing Paws.”
The profile piece features all the wonderful pets at the Encinitas community, including bunnies, turtles, mini-horses, and a pet chinchilla that roams the halls in an ergonomically designed ball. They also sat in on the weekly Pet Therapy program and spoke to associates about the impact that animals have on the lives of seniors who suffer from memory-impairment.
